Congress is currently in recess. The Senate reconvenes on Monday, June 1 and the House on Tuesday, June 2.

Next Week on Capitol Hill – 

Wednesday, June 3: The House and Senate Appropriations Committees on Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education will hold hearings on the US Department of Education’s budget for FY 2010. (The House hearing is at 2:00 PM in 2358 Rayburn. The Senate Hearing will be at 10:00 AM in 124 Dirksen.)

Thursday, June 4: The House Education and Labor Committee will hold a hearing to examine how supporting outstanding charter schools can help build an innovative, world-class American school system that educates all students to high levels.  (For more information,
