Update
This week, the White House released its budget for FY 2010 (for more information, click here). The Department of Education's $46.7 billion budget proposal includes money for new investments in early childhood education, teacher effectiveness, and school improvement, as well as innovation and research.
On May 6, 2009, the House Committee on Education & Labor passed H.R. 2187, the 21st Century Green High Performing Public School Facilities Act. This legislation seeks to provide students with modern, healthier and more environmentally-friendly classrooms by investing money in school improvement projects (for more information, click here).
