Update

The Council of Chief State School Officers and National Governors Association have announced that 49 states and territories have joined in an effort to develop a set of common academic standards for K-12 students. This announcement comes after recent efforts of leading organizations and states to develop college-and career-ready and internationally benchmarked standards. These 49 states and territories will work together to create a common core of standards that states can voluntarily adopt (For more information,

Thursday, June 11: The House Education and Labor Committee will hold hearings to discuss H.R. 2339, the Family Income to Respond to Significant Transitions Act, and H.R. 2460, the Healthy Families Act (For more information, click here).
