Update

The Department of Education this week published a notice of proposed requirements for the School Improvement Grants program authorized by Section 1003(g) of the ESEA. The proposed requirements would govern grants to state educational agencies and sub-grants to local educational agencies with funds appropriated for the program under the regular Fiscal Year 2009 appropriation and funds provided for the program included in the ARRA.  Funds from these two sources would be consolidated into a single fund aggregating $3.546 billion. Public comments on the notice are due to the U.S. Department of Education by September 25, 2009.
