Hearing on the Reauthorization of the America COMPETES Act
January 20, 2010


The House Committee on Science and Technology held a hearing on January 19, regarding reauthorization of the America COMPETES Act, specifically focusing on the business community's perspective.  In his opening remarks, Chairman Bart Gordon (D-TN) said he intends to move the reauthorization through the House this year.

Witnesses included John Castellani, President of the Business Roundtable, Tom Donohue, President and CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce, Governor John Engler, President and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, and Deborah Wince-Smith, President and CEO of the Council on Competitiveness.
