Congress Poised to Pass Short Term Continuing Resolution
Senate efforts to pass an omnibus spending measure for Fiscal Year 2011 collapsed Thursday evening and Congress is now expected to pass a short term continuing resolution to operate the federal government at Fiscal Year 2010 levels until February 2011. This outcome means the Fiscal Year 2011 budget process, including the Department of Education budget, will not likely be resolved until the new Congress convenes next year.
