Pennsylvania to Receive $141 Million to Turn Around Its Persistently Lowest Achieving Schools
U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that Pennsylvania will receive $141 million to turn around its persistently lowest achieving schools through the School Improvement Grants (SIG) program. These funds are part of the $3.5 billion that will be made available to states this spring from money set aside in the 2009 budget and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. (June 09, 2010)
First Lady, Federal Agencies Launch Summer Initiative to Curb Childhood Obesity and Reading Loss

South Dakota to Receive More Than $34 Million in Additional Recovery Funds
U. S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that an additional $34,416,587 is now available for South Dakota under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. To date, South Dakota has received $271,128,563 through the Recovery Act. (June 07, 2010)
